Fingerpond technology (FPT) involves digging ponds in the wetlands that are naturally filled with water and stocked with natural fish when lake level rises. The fish and water remain when the lake level recedes. This technology promotes nutrient cycling, reduces fishing pressure in lakes and increase gross margin of an average household by 11%. FPT promotes resilience of wetland production and sustainability, which enhances absorption of atmospheric carbon, thus reduces global warming.
